# Index commands

> All Commands operating on the Index Object — overview, performance, and comparison.

The **Index** Object covers calculated benchmarks representing baskets of tokens weighted by methodology — used for performance tracking and cross-market comparison. Index Commands cover identity and methodology, performance over time, and multi-index benchmarking.

Each Index Command sits in its own Command Group.
